The Cade Foundation Inc. ® is a 501c3 tax exempt organization that was founded in 2005 by Drs Jason and Camille Hammond to support families struggling with infertility. Cade Foundation provides free education focused programs throughout the country to inform families about their family building options (giving particular focus to adoption, foster care and fertility treatment as methods to building a family). The Foundation also provides Family Building Grants, awards up to $10k per family, to help with the costs of fertility treatment and adoption. To date- we have supported 31 families nationwide! An important way we raise money for the grants is through Race for the Family events. We have held 10 Race for the Family ® events since 2006 and have planned 3 events for 2012 (Illinois, California and Maryland.) These have included 5k races, 5k walks, 1 mile Family Fun Walk events, as well as complementary events focused on entertaining and educating the entire family (Sidewalk Art Festival and Savannah’s Playground).
In 2012, we plan to host 2 foot race themed events (which will both include a Savannah’s Playground) as well as (for the first time) a Car Race themed Reception and Silent Auction in Ontario California on Saturday March 17, 2012 (www.caraceforthefamily.com).
The “foot race” themed events will be held in Chicago Illinois on Saturday June 23, 2012 (www.illraceforthefamily.com) and in Maryland on Sunday September 9, 2012 (www.mdraceforthefamily.com).
